I am so sorry for the delay. It was a terrible year for everyone last year to say the least! </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: medium;">For me, I was suddenly a key worker covering for other colleagues who had to shield. I was working more hours than ever and most days. I was there for the people that needed us in our community. Sometimes our little shop was the only place people who lived alone could find to speak to another human being during lock downs. I was glad to be there for those people. Sadly, my head wasn't in the right space to write throughout that time, One thing I will never do is put out a book until it feels right and I know the story is the best it can be, so it took more time than I'd like to complete this story. </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: medium;">I really hope you enjoy it and find it worth the wait. <div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This story has been a real labour of love. It took a lot of working out for all the plot pieces to fall into place, but it was so worth the effort. I enjoyed the way the characters have grown and the journey they took me on. They surprised me with some of the developments!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am currently working on book four in this series. I will post with an update on that story soon, but if you can't wait there is a little teaser about the book on my website. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you wish to follow me, I promise you won't be bombarded with posts. I am not a prolific poster. I only post now and then with an update on my books and release information. I prefer to spend my spare time actually writing the books for you to enjoy. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Happy Reading!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am extremely excited to reveal the cover for my new book, The Tangled Web. This is the third book in my psychic eye mystery series. I expected to publish this book earlier in the year, but it has taken me longer to figure out all the plot and the characters have taken me down some interesting routes! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This story follows Steele and Paige as they head for his home in London and try to hunt for the answers to his sister's murder, fourteen years previously. It's a complicated case that almost drove Steele over the edge before. Paige is his last hope to find justice for his sister. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Paige faces her own challenges as her gifts bring up new and surprising twists. Problems at home also trouble her as she struggles to unravel the tangled web that is wrapped around the murder of Stacey Steele. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Pip, Beth, Jeremy, and Helen are all back, along with a host of new characters. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is Paige's biggest challenge yet. It has certainly been a challenge for me to write, but also an enormous joy. The book is now in the final stages, so it won't be long now before it will be available to buy. I will keep you posted. </div>

</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt; text-align: justify;">
I am so happy to be back writing. The past two years have been really tough for me. I was doing a course for my regular, ordinary job. It took up all my time and left me with no time to write. I have missed it so very much. It was like an ache in my heart and a hole inside me. I came to realise that I needed to make a change in my life and that's exactly what I have done. It's been scary, but I am finally back doing what I love. Hopefully my readers will love this new instalment from Paige, Kieran and company. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I am now working on book 3 for this series and will update you when it will be released for sale. I am loving these characters and have lots more to come from them. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
It is so exciting to be back. I wish you happy reading. </div>

Here is the synopsis to whet your apatite.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">A photograph, a first name, and the description of a pendant
is not much for private investigator Slade Curtis to go on. Regardless, he is
determined to crack the strange case he has been handed and find the
beneficiary he has been paid to locate. His reputation demands it. However, he
doesn’t bank on a ghostly apparition haunting him or the very woman he is
searching for to pop into his life by chance. Slater suddenly finds himself
sucked into a dangerous game and his adversary holds all the cards.</span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Jade Robinson has no interest in recovering her lost memory
or searching for the answers to her mysterious past. She never wants to recall
the reason she was wandering the streets at fourteen, covered with blood.
However, someone from her past wants to awaken her memory and will stop at
nothing to achieve his goal. Suddenly, the only person Jade can rely on is the
very investigator that threw her to the madman determined to wrest from her

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Finally, I am at the stage where I can reveal the cover for my new book Shadows in the Night. I am really excited and happy to report that I have now finished writing the story. It still has to go through the editing stage, but it shouldn't be long before I can give a release date. Stay posted. I will be keeping you informed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I know it has been quite some time since I was able to write anything on my blog or Facebook page, but life has just been so busy lately. It was a choice of social media or finishing the book! Obviously I chose to finish the book. It is much tougher now that I have to fit everything around a full time job, but I am determined to keep on writing. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I love this story and am very pleased with the outcome. I hope every reader thinks it was worth the wait. Slater has completely captured my heart. He has been one of my favourite characters to date. I have loved writing every word, although I am sad I was unable to finish the book quicker than I have. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is a story full of mystery and strange events that I hope will keep you guessing to the very end. It certainly took a great deal of thought and planning. I spent many a night working out all the details. I think the end result was well worth the sleepless tossing in my bed! I hope it won't be long before I can publish the book and share Slater and Jade's mystery with you.</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvUUhyphenhyphenYUen2ZDV1N6h3fasHR_roB7RQ_hXUcF2NvgDSsUnpKiEYPmt8MWzfY30P30CT34FLp5iKioDarVCvAGB_oPDzabd30pGCDLTG6u-yX6HiW-9AmEvH2cyH4XUyFLjxjmFZjPhLq1i/s1600/Danielle+Rose-West+Rose+picture.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvUUhyphenhyphenYUen2ZDV1N6h3fasHR_roB7RQ_hXUcF2NvgDSsUnpKiEYPmt8MWzfY30P30CT34FLp5iKioDarVCvAGB_oPDzabd30pGCDLTG6u-yX6HiW-9AmEvH2cyH4XUyFLjxjmFZjPhLq1i/s1600/Danielle+Rose-West+Rose+picture.jpg" height="198" width="200" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I will be releasing the cover image for this book in the next few weeks. My life has made so many changes recently that it has slowed down my writing considerably. I am now working full time in a new job, which I love, but it does mean that I don't have the time I used to be able to devote to writing. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Unfortunately this is something that most writers have to deal with. Our writing work simply doesn't pay the bills for most of us. I am very lucky. I have found a job and a place that I love working. It has been a joy for me to go back to full time employment. There are many writers that would love to give up their day job and be able to write full time, but simply can't afford to. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I would love it if this could change. It is generally down to more and more books being offered for free and many readers not willing to pay for a book anymore, or will only buy it on discount. Hopefully this trend will change. If we don't support our writers, how can we expect them to have the time to continue to create the entertainment we love to enjoy? After all, nobody expects to work for hours for free. Yet many authors do. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Books also cost money to produce, which is something I think most readers don't realise. An author has to pay for things like professional editing, covers, etc. It takes a lot of hard work and effort to create one book and I think authors deserve the small amount of money that is requested for the opportunity to enjoy their work. Perhaps this is something that we can all make the effort to change in the future. I do my part. I always buy the books I wish to read and rarely read a free book (usually only when an author friend has requested for an honest review of their work). I know then that I have honoured the hard work and effort the author has put into their novel. I hope many readers will do the same. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In the meantime, I will continue to finish Jade's story. It isn't far from the end, I just need to get the time to finish it off, edit it and then release it. After her story is complete, I am thinking of starting a new series for Young Adults which is more of an adventure kind of a story, but I won't tell you more about that just yet! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For now, keep your eyes open for the cover reveal of Shadows in the Night and more information about the release date for this book. Have a great summer and happy reading. </div>

I am really pleased to interview a dear friend of mine, Stella Eromonsere-Ajanaku. <br />
<br />
<strong>What’s the story behind your latest book?</strong> <br />
<br />
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
My latest release, Stolen Valentine Kiss: Will One Kiss Steal Her Heart? (Holiday Series #1) features an emotionally troubled British/Nigerian heroine (Lorna Ibe) who went to America on holiday to forget about her problems but unexpectedly meets US born hero (Logan Blake) who thankfully, isn’t interested in a relationship. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
The cheeky notion of Logan stealing one kiss from an unwilling and uninterested Lorna kicks off unexpected emotion. I imagined the magic of that kiss; the heat flowing through her veins and the tip of his tongue drawing dizzying circles in her mouth making her heart pound so much she’s swayed. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
The more I thought about it, the more the story took shape. It was entirely my readers idea to turn Stolen Valentine Kiss into a series. <br />
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<strong>What are you working on next?</strong> </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Cowries From a Prince, book one of my first historical romance series is on my writing table at the moment. (This is the first time I'm naming the new title). There are three books in the series. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Cowries From a Prince is based in the Ancient Benin City, a bustling town in the South West of Nigeria in the 17th Century. The city still has monarchical rule till date. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
In Igodomigodo land (as it was called) there were traditions that my heroine, Uvbi Adolo believed took away the rights of women. To change the norm, she must battle against all odds; family challenges and bear unbelievable upheavals. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
The hero, Nagudia Igho, seek ways to bring justice to all, but he must use subtle ways that can’t be linked to him. Their attraction is strong but unrecognised. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Nagudia and Uvbi fight the growing attraction as there are family and societal pressure to contend with. I love both of them and the rough tide they face. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<strong>When you’re not writing, how do you spend your time? </strong></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
I spend my time with my husband and children; laughing, playing hard or going to the Cinema. When I’m not having fun with them, I’m baking or sitting in a comfy leather sofa watching TV. When I have additional spare time, I read lots of romance novels, contemporary or historical. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<strong>Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?</strong> </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
That’s an easy one. How can I forget? My first contemporary romance, Loitering Shadows is the first story I ever wrote. Published in May 2010, it was inspired in part by my life experiences. For you to deduce what parts are real and the parts that are fiction, you’ll have to read in between Tricia and Prescott’s emotional story. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<strong>Describe a favourite scene in your current novel?</strong> </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQyiqKNO6x8bgIvEolhkYc-oPw3dT2E6j8zo0f5QRTRqIteKVbMgvVmGSXq9YHybERq5egiwcbmgmDUR2EftBvuuH_FYvUFURJ5_H22UXeyDCA46FrDmGegYi7uYhFtdd9wZnwtXHU6bAx/s1600/LoganBlake-StolenValentineKiss.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQyiqKNO6x8bgIvEolhkYc-oPw3dT2E6j8zo0f5QRTRqIteKVbMgvVmGSXq9YHybERq5egiwcbmgmDUR2EftBvuuH_FYvUFURJ5_H22UXeyDCA46FrDmGegYi7uYhFtdd9wZnwtXHU6bAx/s1600/LoganBlake-StolenValentineKiss.jpeg" height="320" width="309" /></a>My favourite scene in Stolen Valentine Kiss is when Logan stopped over at Lorna’s place on a date she’d reluctantly agreed to. She’d been pressured by her aunt. <br />
In her state of panic, Lorna stumbled to her bedroom door, placed her ears behind the door, straining to listen to Logan’s conversation with her aunt. The knock on her door sent her tumbling backwards, landing slapdash on her bed. Her aunt walked in, a bemused expression on her face. <br />
I still find that scene hilarious because Lorna had previously denied any feelings for Logan. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<strong>What else do you have in store for your readers?</strong> </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
Book two in the Holiday Series (sequel to Stolen Valentine Kiss) is due out before Thanksgiving 2014. Lorna and Logan will have to overcome a number of hurdles if they want their engagement to climax into the wedding of their dreams. Readers will have to wait to read book two to find out if they'll have a wedding. </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
<strong>How did you come up with the hero and heroine for your latest book?</strong> </div>
<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
Nagudia Igho and Uvbi Adolo, the hero and heroine in my Work-In-Progress; Cowries From a Prince are characters that stole my feisty heart as the thought of life for a young maiden in the chiefly traditional 17th Century Benin City raced through. <br />
<br />
The story involves a hero who has the heart of a lion, the strength and gait of a thorough-bred horse and a rarely confrontational personality that open doors, who knows how to relate with men in power to push through his ideas. Nagudia fits perfectly. He's a man with a turbulent history and an enviable future. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
Uvbi on the hand, is a young maiden with the heart of a lioness, fearless and bold, ready to crush every oppressive tradition and vocally challenges what she perceives as injustice against women. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<strong>Why are your hero and heroine perfect for each other?</strong> </div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
To my writing pen, Nagudia and Uvbi are perfect for each other because opposite attract. They complement each other’s personalities but they may be too blind, stubborn and fearless to know how to work together. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<strong>Do you plan several books ahead or do you work on one book at a time?</strong> </div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
Yes, I do plan a few books ahead but I only work on one book at a time. Interestingly, I set aside my current work-in-progress; Cowries From a Prince, for almost two years to write and publish two other titles; Husband to Rent and Stolen Valentine Kiss (Holiday Series). </div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<strong>Tell us a little about your writing style? Do you plan and plot your stories, or do you just start writing them?</strong> </div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
It varies. In the past, I have written straight from the heart. At other times, I sketch loosely by writing down a few sentences for each chapter. As I write, I flesh out the story along the sketched lines.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<strong>Have you ever had writer’s block? How do you deal with it?</strong> </div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
Not often. I remember once when I encountered the dreaded block, I packed up my writing for a day. When I returned to the story, I read the preceding pages and it flowed unstopped. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<strong>What is the best comment you ever received from a reader? The worst or weirdest?</strong></div>
<div dir="ltr">
</div>
<div dir="ltr">
A reader wrote to me on Facebook after reading Husband to Rent; "I just wrote my review. I hope it did justice to a great work. I am so proud of you and my dear you were so bold. The the love making scenes were mouth watering.gooood job." On another occasion, she wrote; "I'll read anything Stella writes."</div>
<div dir="ltr">
The worst was a great criticism about SPARKLING DAWN by a reader stating; "Okay I have to say the writing style and dialogue is very formal and stilted. The characters ran so hot and cold that I got a bit tired waiting for them to be on the same page. I don't quite get the story of how the secret came to be as Chloe was young and even with travelling parents suspicions would have been raised. A sweet if unrealistic story."</div>
<div dir="ltr">
Interestingly, the same book (SPARKLING DAWN) was rated 5stars by another more enthusiastic reader.<br />
"Awesome piece. True love and a crush eventually reciprocrated. Couldn't quite figure out why Chloe resisted Warren. When the truth came out. I cried for Chloe and fell in love with Warren by standing by her. That is true love! Believable and real. Love it, Love it, Love it. Thumbs up."</div>
<div dir="ltr">
As a consequence, I have sent it off to a brilliant editor to have another read. I welcome every comment. It helps to sharpen my skill and story. </div>

<br />
It is my turn to write a blog post in the writing process blog tour. I am sorry I am two days late for posting, but my life has taken some unexpected plot twists lately! I was simply too tired to write anything until today (and even then, I am not sure I am completely with it yet!). <br />
<br />
I would first like to acknowledge Christine Ardigo for inviting me onto the tour. She is an amazing writer and friend. You can read an interview with her just below this post. I wish her the greatest success with her new book, Cheating to Survive. It is a great read by a very talented new author. You can read all about her book in the interview post, along with her links. <br />
<br />
So, here are my answers to the questions posed in this interview. <br />
<br />
<strong>1) What am I working on?</strong><br />
<br />
Well, right now I am working on the third book in my haunted by the past series. It is the story of Jade, who was introduced in the previous book. She can't remember anything from her past, before the age of fourteen. She was discovered wandering the streets covered in blood, but she has no idea what happened to her. Unfortunately, the past she wishes to never remember refuses to be ignored. Someone wants Jade to recall her past, but she has no idea who or why. Slater is the PI that gets caught up in her troubles and finds himself haunted by a ghost that won't leave him alone. I am really enjoying writing this book! I can't wait to finish and publish it. <br />
<br />
<strong>2) How does my work differ from others of its genre?</strong><br />
<br />
I like to put an unusual twist on all my stories. One series has fairy godmother's that run their own dating agency and the other series are mysteries with a paranormal twist. I love things that are unusual and interesting. With my mysteries, I like to think of plots that leave people guessing. So far, nobody has told me that they knew the ending before they read it. That makes me very happy!<br />
<br />
<strong>3) Why do I write what I do?</strong><br />
<br />
I am an incurable romantic, but I also love things that are unusual and interesting. I love to explore characters and unusual events. I am always dreaming up something new. It has to be interesting to me, or I can't write it. At the heart of every story is a true love. It couldn't be any other way for me. <br />
<br />
<strong> 4) How does your writing process work?</strong><br />
<br />
I have an initial idea. That burst of inspiration that fires up my imagination and starts the drive to explore and write a story. I spend time with the characters and idea in my mind, exploring it with my imagination. This will often produce key events and situations that I want to include in the book. As I start to write the story, often new ideas and angles work their way into the book as my characters take life and show me the direction they are heading in. Writing the actual book can often be different each time. I will need to stop and research some areas or a scene doesn't fit that I originally thought would. Every project is different, but that's what makes it great. I don't think my process is totally the same for every book. Some are easy and others challenge me. I like it both ways!<br />
<br />
Now I would like to introduce an author who I have recently become friends with. Her name is Katie McKnight. She will be posting her blog hop in approx. a week from today. <br />

Extensive thrusts propelled him across the room as if he had waited forever for

removing the obstructive backrest. He secured her cheekbones under his thumbs

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am steadily working my way through Shadows in the Night. It is shaping up to be a great mystery and I am loving the characters and story so much. Hopefully, it won't be too long before I can reveal the cover and publish the book. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Jade and Slater are certainly going through it. This mystery has kept me up a few nights, working out all the different angles and making sure the plot is completely watertight. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am so excited about this book and want to share a small taster with you. So here is an excerpt and I hope you enjoy reading it. It's only a tiny taster, but a good one!</div>

Teaser Excerpt</h2>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 14.2pt;">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">He slowly walked towards the woman.
“Hi. Excuse me, do you live around here? I was wondering if I could ask you a
couple of questions. It won’t take long.”<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 14.2pt;">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The woman continued to stare out at
the water, her face turned so that all he could see was her profile. She seemed
a rather plain woman from what he could tell. Her hair hung down just below her
shoulders and her clothing was rather dowdy and colourless. She held a hand to
her mouth, as if she was holding in some deep emotion.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 14.2pt;">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">As he drew closer, he noticed tears
trickling down her face. She didn’t seem to notice them, or him. He hesitated.
Should he intrude on her private pain? He glanced back up the path, but decided
to offer his assistance. He couldn’t just leave someone in obvious distress.
He’d seen the devastated kind of expression on her features many times before.
Usually on the faces of clients after he’d notified someone of their partner’s
cheating.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 14.2pt;">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">“Are you alright? Do you need me to
call someone for you?” Slater called to her.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 14.2pt;">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">He stepped closer to the woman.
Something seemed decidedly off kilter. His heart tripped over in his chest.
Although the breeze blew threw his hair, tossing it in every direction, it
didn’t touch the woman’s tresses at all. It appeared as though she belonged in
a different time and space from the one he occupied. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 14.2pt;">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">He shook his head and pinched the
bridge of his nose. He had to be imagining things. Too many late nights and
strong coffee. It had finally eroded his brain. Slater opened his eyes and
stared hard at the woman. She slowly turned in his direction. His mouth dropped
open. The side of her head was completely caved in. Blood dripped down what was
left of her face. As she turned to fully face him, he could see the blood
spattered over her body. It dripped from the ends of her fingers to soak the
grass below her feet. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 14.2pt;">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">“<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">All

<div style="text-align: justify;">
One year ago, my husband bought me a laptop and told me he believed I was a writer. It was a dream I had had my whole life, but never thought I would achieve it. I was totally nervous, but filled with determination. He had so much faith in me, so why couldn't I have that belief in myself?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I sat down and started to write my very first book, Wild Fire. I'd had the idea for this novel for a long time, but had never written past the prologue. I kept on working on my book every day, never letting my doubts and fears stop me from developing the characters and the story. Finally, in July, I had completed my very first novel. Nervously, I published my work on Amazon. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A lot has happened to me in the year since then. When I first placed my work on the market, I felt like a fraud. It was odd to see a book up there with my name on it. One that was written by me from beginning to end. It was thrilling and terrifying all at the same time. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I immediately started work on my second book. Before I knew it, I was ready to publish this one as well. I was suddenly a two book author, yet I still didn't feel like one. I began to realise I needed to promote my work in a more proactive way. So I began this blog, a Facebook page, Twitter (which I am only just learning how to use!), google +, and later Pinterest. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Marketing was a huge challenge for me and in many ways, it still is. I think that is true for every author. But along the way, I have found many great new friends that have made this journey so much better. I am now the author of five books with my sixth well on the way. By the time I reach my one year anniversary for actually publishing my first book in July, I will definitely have six books to my name. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am finally beginning to feel that I really am an author. I have many five star reviews for my work and feel so blessed to have received emails thanking me for my books (thank you to all who have written such lovely words to me over the year). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It has been an amazing first year. I would say to all budding authors or wannabes.........go for it. There is nothing like fulfilling your life's dream. Every day is a wonderful, exciting journey. I am so happy that my husband bought me this wonderful laptop and helped me begin my life as an author. Yep, I can finally say it without wincing. I am an Author! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Love to you all,</div>

This is a really super story, full of romance and magic but with some hard messages too.<br /><br />Misunderstood and unappreciated by his rich and powerful family Rhys has been through enough turmoil in his life but when he turns the corner and his back on gangs and rebellion and tries to help others who find themselves in the same situation, his family turn against him even further.<br /><br />Two sweet but silly fairy godmothers sprinkle their magic over Rhys and his newly matched partner Taylor but neither of them can begin to see the sparks lighting with Taylor's impossibly rebellious brother and incredibly rude sister fighting for her attention.<br /><br />Throw in a overbearing grandmother and some violent gang members and it looks as though Rhys will never realise his dream or find his perfect partner.<br /><br />Following the death of their parents, Taylor can barely cope with herself let alone her brother and sister. Having Rhys turn up on her doorstep is just another hardship sent to try her patience. Her character is tested fully as she realises that first impressions are not always the right ones and family loyalty sometimes has to take second place behind right and wrong.<br /><br />The author has really captured the hardship of some people's lives. Taylor's desperation is palpable and gives the reader an insight into how difficult some teenagers can be. Rhys's strengths evolve from his dangerous and unloved past but only rise to fruition from the ashes of his own near self destruction.<br /><br />The fairies make this story a little more lighthearted but there is a strong and hard message behind this book that shouldn't be taken lightly.<br /><br />Overall an excellent read. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I am beginning work on the third Haunted by the Past book. Jade is finally going to have her past catch up with her when she inherits a house, a little like the one pictured above. This is news to her, as she didn't think she had any family left in the world. She remembers nothing since she was fourteen years old and was found wandering the streets covered in blood. Nobody claimed her and she has no idea what happened. The only clue to her identity is a pendant that was hanging around her neck. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Jade isn't exactly thrilled to have her lost past knocking at her door. Something inside her tells her this means trouble. She is reluctant to explore her past, but I can't wait! I will keep you posted with updates as I work on this book. </div>

<b><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The beginning<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></b></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-add-space: auto;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The first 'writing' that I did was
when I was about 14. I read a book my mother owned and asked if I could have
it. She said no (not surprising) but my Dad gave me a typewriter and a stack of
paper so I could copy the book. Which I did. That was not writing of course;
that happened when I decided I didn't like one chapter and replaced that with
something I liked better.<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-add-space: auto;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Since then I haven't stopped writing.
First I did little bits, and 7 years ago I became more serious after joining an
amateur writers' mailing list. This was the step that made me a real writer. A
lot happened since then. 23 books happened, in fact and today there's a new one
out called "A Girl Named Sandy".</span></span></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-add-space: auto;">
<b><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The latest<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></b></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-add-space: auto;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The story behind "A Girl Named
Sandy" is odd. 3 years ago I visited friends in Bristol (UK) and one night
I had a dream about this story. It was very odd so I tried to brush it off, but
the next night it came back. For that reason the working title of it has been
"Bristol Dream" for over 2.5 years. After dreaming that same dream 2
nights in a row I knew I had to do something about it and then I started
writing. It was a lot of work but now, after 3 years, it's completely done.<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-add-space: auto;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The story is a science fiction that
involves astrophysics, a young girl named Sandy who meets an astrophysics
doctor from Bristol, aliens and space ships. I've tried to make it something different,
as per the dream I had.</span></span></span><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><o:p><span style="color: #00000a; font-family: Calibri;"> </span></o:p></span></div>

<b><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Writing<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></b></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-add-space: auto;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">People often ask what's so great
about writing. First it's the act of getting all these ideas and feelings and
people out of my head and inside a story, a book. That's wonderful. A release,
a relief, and the best way to enter new worlds and explore other lives.<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-add-space: auto;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Then there are the reactions of
people who read my stories and tell me how they love them. My most popular
series, Hilda the Wicked Witch, has been amazing for that. Even terminally ill
people sent me notes that Hilda's antics lifted their spirits, helped them to
overcome despairing moments. No matter how many sales any book gathers,
messages like that are the highest thing I can receive. It's humbling and
uplifting at the same time. There is no feeling on earth that beats that, for
me.<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-add-space: auto;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">I'm working on the 13th
book in the Hilda the Wicked Witch series (for the people who love and need
her), there's an urban fantasy in the works called "Clara's Eyes",
and I'm finalising a science fiction story that I wrote in Dutch and English
simultaneously. That was a very interesting experience. (Despite being Dutch
I've always written in English until now because that mailing list I mentioned
was international, I was the only Dutchman there.)</span></span></span><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><o:p><span style="color: #00000a; font-family: Calibri;"> </span></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-add-space: auto;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The first proper story I wrote was on
that mailing list. It's about a Druid called Rhys whose village is raided by
invading Romans; the story plays around 50BCE. Something odd (=magical) happens
to him and he's sent on a very bizarre journey. A few months ago I looked that
story up and was actually shocked (in a positive way) by the writing style. 7
years of writing have done a lot to my style, so I decided to rewrite that
story. I'm taking the basic concept and creating a new story from that. The
difference is very clear and I'm proud of that.</span></span></span><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><o:p><span style="color: #00000a; font-family: Calibri;"> </span></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">I have several heroes in that realm.
Valerie Douglas, who writes brilliant fantasy. Terry Pratchett and his
Discworld series whom I adore for his wordplay. Douglas Adams and his
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy in 5 parts. Frank Herbert and Isaac
Asimov for their Science Fiction, and Ursula leGuin for her fantasy. The list
goes on, but would become a little boring I'm afraid. :-)<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></div>

<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Usually I just start writing about
something that's knocking at the backdoor of my mind. After a while I see the

that.<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></div>

that I find endearing, but that is because I've been emotionally involved with
it for 3 years (and will be for a while to come). I think one of the best parts
is this:<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-add-space: auto;">
<i><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Paul and Sandy, the main characters,
are in a laboratory of the Arecibo Telescope Centre (Paul is an astrophysicist
and Sandy is there because she studies astrophysics and she speaks Spanish).
Sandy sees how Paul deals with everything that's coming at him regarding the
work and then she has this sudden pang of being inadequate, even as if she's in
his way, hindering him to go as fast as he wants, and she runs out. Paul goes
after her and talks with her, convincing that she's doing a wonderful job and
that he doesn't want her away from his side.<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></i></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-add-space: auto;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">This may not sound like something
impressive, but for me it shows the growing connection between Paul and Sandy,
how there is still misunderstanding. Despite being so busy he notices her
'despair' and leaves his work to go after her and talk with her. That is a part
of the dedication, communication and understanding that's very meaningful to
me. Something that we need a lot more of in our present world.</span></span></span></div>

<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-add-space: auto;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">As I already mentioned, I receive
mails from ill people who tell me how my stories help them. The most amazing
one was from a lady who's in hospital with cancer since far too long. She's a
painter and hadn't had the desire nor the energy to paint anything. After
reading a few Hilda stories she wrote to me about how the wicked witch made her
laugh, and asked if I allowed her to paint a few scenes from a book if ever she
had enough energy to paint again. That is something that touches me so deeply,
I can't describe that.<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-add-space: auto;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 105%;"><span style="color: #00000a;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The weirdest comment was from someone
who claimed I should give away the print versions of the first 7 Hilda stories
because the first 7 e-books are free as well. I'm still shaking my head over
that. Ink, paper, printing and postage (or shipping as Americans prefer) don't
come for free for me. If someone has a good option for that, don't hesitate to
get in touch with me though!!<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>;-)<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></div>

I am so happy to announce that Phoenix Rising is finally available from today as a Kindle and Print Edition through Amazon. I have loved creating this book. It has been my favourite so far. Here is the book Synopsis and a small excerpt just to whet your appetite. <br />
<br />
<h2 align="center">
Book Synopsis</h2>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">How can Fairy Godmothers help their charges find love in the
modern world when nobody believes in magic anymore? Simple, they run a dating
agency!<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Rhys Spencer is determined to prevent his rich father from
shutting down the charity he set up for kids in gangs, but he needs the money
from a trust fund to do it. However, his grandmother has withheld the funds
until he proves himself to be a mature, responsible person. To her mind, that
means Rhys being in a serious relationship. Rhys turns to the Fairy Tale Match
to find a woman he can use as a fake girlfriend. He will do all it takes to
claim the money that will thwart his father’s selfish plans. The feisty woman
the agency sets him up with, will not stand in his way.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Taylor Shore has more complications in her life than anyone
should have to deal with. Guardian to her two half-siblings since their parents’
deaths, she has her hands full with their constant troublemaking. The last
thing she needs is to win the prize in a dating agency competition she never entered.
Furious to find her friend entered for her, Taylor is determined to send her
prize packing. The guy that turns up to stay with her for three weeks, however,
has other plans in mind. Refusing to be ordered from her house, the arrogant
man offers her a deal she’d be a fool to refuse.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">As Rhys inserts himself into Taylor’s problems, he begins to
turn her life around. The angry fireworks between them gives way to a passionate
love. Just as they find happiness, a vicious lie told by Taylor’s sister breaks
them apart. Flo and Lotta have their work cut out for them to bring Rhys and
Taylor back together. Time is against them and tragedy lurks on the horizon.
Can Flo and Lotta save the day, or will Rhys and Taylor lose the precious love
they have found forever….<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 8pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Although the third book in the series, this can be read as a
stand alone novel.</span></span></div>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">
Excerpt</h2>

<span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Her jaw dropped open and she stared
at him disbelievingly. “You can’t be serious. You want me to be a fake
girlfriend and lie to your grandmother? Why?”<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

“You didn’t want to tell me why you were hanging from a window earlier, and I
don’t want to tell you why I need you to do this.” He gazed at her with one
eyebrow cocked. “I’ll stay out of your business if you stay out of mine.”<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

protested. “You expect me to lie for you. I should at least know why. It’s a
despicable thing to pull the wool over your own grandmother’s eyes. I knew
there had to be some reason why you’d joined a dating agency! It’s because of
this, whatever this is, isn’t it?” She didn’t even wait for a reply. “Why am I
not surprised?”<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

The time has finally come to reveal the cover for Phoenix Rising. I am so thrilled with this book. The editing is going like a dream and is almost done. I may be looking at an end of March release date. This book has a very special place in my heart. I can't wait to share it with my readers. The characters will live with me forever and I hope they will for you too. I am sad to leave them. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I hope you love this cover as much as I do. Enjoy!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well, it would seem Phoenix Rising has won the race between the two books I am writing. It will be the first one published, hopefully at the end of this month, but definitely in early April! I will keep you posted about the release date. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I didn't think it would be that soon, but I caught a cold from my husband and couldn't sleep one night as I was feeling so ill. Suddenly, the whole rest of the book formed in my mind. The pages just flowed out and now it's in the editing stages!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This book has been one of the hardest and easiest books I have written to date. I know, what a contradiction, but it's true. I would like to share it's journey with you. Phoenix Rising has gone through the biggest changes since I first had the concept about ten months ago, while I was writing the first in the Fairy Tale Match series, Wild Fire. Rhys felt like such a great character and something rather special. I knew his tale would be the third book in the series. I could hardly wait to write it, but I had other books to write first.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I changed a few things from my original idea in the months between being ready to work on this book and started to write it before my last book, Shadow of Suspicion. I wrote 45 pages and I wasn't happy with any of it. Nothing felt right. Rhys suddenly wasn't showing himself to me, Taylor was all wrong, and none of the story flowed. It was torture every time I sat at the computer and tried to write it. I gave up and decided to leave it alone for a while. I turned my attention to Shadow of Suspicion instead. I went back to Phoenix Rising after Shadow of Suspicion was completed and reread what I had written. I binned the lot! Some character names have survived, but that's all.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After a bit of thinking and reworking the plot, I suddenly found Rhys. His character shone out so clearly that I nearly cried with relief. Taylor also sprang forward and their relationship and trials unravelled before my eyes. There were a lot of things I changed from the 45 pages. As I said, some characters stayed, but their roles changed dramatically and it all started to fit. Once I found the motivations and reworked plot, everything flowed like a dream and became the easiest book I have written to date, after giving me the hardest time! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I love this story. Rhys and Taylor have been a joy to write about and this book has a special place in my heart. I can't wait to share their tale with you. I will be revealing the cover for this book soon. I have had it as my personal picture on my computer to inspire me every day while writing the book and because it is so beautiful to look at! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Keep your eyes on the blog or my Facebook page for the cover reveal soon.</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJdbM3YQSSkwcFUbPG1iHWqVoW-h5eSKFFuMJv4GuJ2mRKXFqy1qObyU5BETtyCJR1GUHUnatxtGPzchIiSRK4KMuL2_DmmeWGNaYwAGxrB5_Vr1SFMiCuJ_yPlY5Pf51GmGOMPMSqhbRJ/s1600/Shadow+of+Suspicion+Cover+6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJdbM3YQSSkwcFUbPG1iHWqVoW-h5eSKFFuMJv4GuJ2mRKXFqy1qObyU5BETtyCJR1GUHUnatxtGPzchIiSRK4KMuL2_DmmeWGNaYwAGxrB5_Vr1SFMiCuJ_yPlY5Pf51GmGOMPMSqhbRJ/s1600/Shadow+of+Suspicion+Cover+6.jpg" height="320" width="213" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Although it's still a little cold out there, spring is definitely in the air! The nights are starting to draw back out, but reading is always a favourite pastime whatever the weather or time of year. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have been absorbed in some great mysteries of late, on TV rather than in book form, as I've had no time to read of late. I have been a busy little beaver, working on my writing but also on my house! Some evenings I have been so tired, all I've been able to do is slump in my seat and download an atmospheric mystery to watch. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I think there is nothing quite like a mystery with a little romance thrown in. So, this weekend only, I am offering Shadow of Suspicion free on Amazon Kindle for all you romance and mystery fans. From Fri 7th March to Sun 9th March, you can download this book absolutely free. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I hope those that take advantage of this offer, enjoy the mystery and romance of the story. I loved writing it, so I hope you enjoy reading it. Although it is the second in a series, it can be read as a stand alone novel. Happy Reading!</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoLcrfe53Ng_8jrIyXINa65m7hxrdzXuKrNEsTE8416mZ_0J5Z-2YwUnwU_WjQEs-t154Dcg8j90W7cgBMXwsR6ApCpjeCzaSN9hW69L19PMBp2E1ggh5BkN03iSX0trd4n-dCH0pwihFj/s1600/ID-10088549.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoLcrfe53Ng_8jrIyXINa65m7hxrdzXuKrNEsTE8416mZ_0J5Z-2YwUnwU_WjQEs-t154Dcg8j90W7cgBMXwsR6ApCpjeCzaSN9hW69L19PMBp2E1ggh5BkN03iSX0trd4n-dCH0pwihFj/s1600/ID-10088549.jpg" height="320" width="208" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This story has been a long time in coming! It has given me some headaches over the last few months, I can tell you. The original idea has morphed a few times along the way. Rhys has taken his time to show me his character, but he's finally talking and I am super pleased with the results.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I originally wrote a few chapters of this story, but ended up binning the whole lot. That was deeply frustrating as a writer. I couldn't find the dynamics between Rhys and his match Taylor. Their motivations were shrouded somewhat in mystery and what I was working on just wasn't right. That is why I left them alone for a while and concentrated on Shadow of Suspicion. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Coming back to this story, I rethought a great deal of the details. I found a whole new angle and motivation for both characters. Some of the supporting cast went through a metamorphosis too. The concept for the story is the same, but many things in it have changed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, now we have a heroine who wins her match in a competition she didn't enter (her friend takes it upon herself to enter for her) and a hero who wants to get his hands on a trust fund. Needless to say, neither of these two want an actual relationship and certainly not with each other! Fireworks definitely ignite and it's so much fun to write. I can't wait to complete this book and share it all with you. It will be worth the wait.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Writing truly is such an amazing journey. I love to see where my imagination can take me. I stretched myself as an author by writing my mystery series, Haunted by the Past. Now I intend to stretch myself even further. I am working on a new series of books which will involve a time travel element, but so much more than that. The research alone has proved fascinating! I have no idea where this journey will take me, but I am excited to find out. This one's going to be quite a challenge!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Don't worry, I am still working on Phoenix Rising. I have no idea which book will be finished first, but I can't wait to find out. Writing has become more and more of a love with every book I create. This new series has my heart pounding and my mind working overtime! I won't say more than that right now, but keep your eyes on my blog and Facebook pages. I will be posting news on both books as I work on them. </div>
